Here are a couple of terms with which your PMs should all be familiar:

    • Enterprise project - Any project stored in the Project Server database.
    • Local project - Any project NOT stored in the Project Server database, such as a project that is a local project saved as an MPP file.
    • Enterprise resource - Any resource stored in the Enterprise Resource Pool in Project Server.
    • Local resource - Any resource that is a team member in an enterprise project but is not in the Enterprise Resource Pool.
    • Check In and Check Out - When a user opens an enterprise project Read/Write, Project Server checks out the project to that user so that no other PM can open and edit the project. When the user saves and closes the project, the system allows the user to determine whether to check in the project so that others can now edit it, or to leave it checked out.

Just a couple of terms.  I would bet that the others in this community will have some ideas for you as well.
