Lost all Workflow Association after Restore

    Question

  • Hi,

After an issue with one of our SP environments, we had to perform a restore from a DB.

The issue with this, is all documents have lost their association with their workflows.

Does anyone know how we can rectify this problem?

    Thanks,

    Daniel

  • Hi Daniel,

The “Completed” and “Terminated” workflow instances are purged from “WFInstanceManagementDB” database when you restore database contained the site collection.

Please go to SharePoint Designer to check if the associations of these workflows exist. If yes, you can republish the workflows to try to restore the workflow instances. If not, you need to create associations and re-start the workflow manually.
