  • Question

  • How will Microsoft Teams handle E-discovery, and compliance.

I get that everything is security Complaint, but what about legal.

Say, one of our users (User1) is getting litigated and we are requested to get all communications between, User 1 and User 2.

Would we be able to run an E-discovery on a Team, or would you just be able to run it on that user and be able to get that data from the Team as well as the Mailbox and OneDrive?

  • Hello,

Currently you get all the information like Teams/SFB chats, mailboxes etc.

You can also apply the filters before running the Ediscovery so can get the chats between two users as well as the mails exchanged.

I would suggest you to follow the below article for the same.

    Run Ediscovery and content search:-
    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/how-to-run-ediscovery-or-content-search-with/db0c2e33-a098-4fe5-ba1f-2123315adb6c

I hope even this answers your query.

    Thank you.
