DPM 2012 using SQL server 2012

-
Hi,
I have installed DPM 2012 on a server already containg SQL Server 2012 sp 1. During installation, I chose "Use an existing instance of SQL server" and provided the instance server\name. However, when it is now finished, I see that DPM setup has installed SQL Server 2008 R2 and seems to be using both installations. I can find the DPMDB in both SQLMS 2008 and SQLMS 2012. Confused... Can I uninstall SQL server 2008 without causing any problems?
Greatly appreciate some good advice:-)
Regards, Siri-Brit

Unfortunately, no explanations... But I have uninstalled sql 2008, and will during the next week test to see how it affects the solution when I start using the server for backup and restore. Hopefully it works just fine. Fingers crossed:-)
