Sharepoint 2007 - User access across restrictions

Question
-
Hello,
Would love some help with a Sharepoint I am working on. I have two areas - Area A can be accessed by a large number of people and Area B can only be accessed by a small team of people. Most Area A users do not have access to Area B.
Although most Area A users cannot access Area B, is it possible that within Area A I can link to specific files stored in Area B?
For example, if there is a contacts list kept in Area B, is it possible to provide Area A users wtih access to that specific file (the list of Contacts) through a direct link, for example, even if they cannot normally access Area B of the Sharepoint?
I hope I have been clear enough. If anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated!

Yes you can provide Item Level permission on that perticular file in Doc Lib / List item
hover mouse on item and you will get manage permission option, in which you can either use parent permission or assign an unique permission.
So though user can access that particular document and not the whole Library

Yes, you can display the list in another site using webparts. Refer to the following URL for more information
