Pasting Password on Windows Login Screen RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to find a way to paste a password into the Windows login screen. The password is complex and changes every so often. Typing the password out by hand always introduces errors into the password and I have to start all over retyping the password. Is there a change that I can make to allow copy/paste to work on the login screen?

I know that it is a security issue to have any password saved into the clipboard, which is why I have an executable to erase the clipboard in my startup folder.

    Additional Information:

I am connecting to computers ranging from XP to Windows 7 to Server 2003 ( a fix to any of them would be appreciated )

I am connecting to the computers through Remote Desktop Connection with Clipboard Sharing on.

          Remote Desktop Connection version 6.1.7601.17514

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • I don't think it could be possible: when you type your password to log into Windows, you're in the winlogon process desktop (not in the Explorer's one) and such an operation shouldn't be allowed for security reasons.
