Recovery of restored files RRS feed

  • Question

  • Recently in May 2014, my hard drive crashed, causing my computer to be unable to start up.

Earlier in April 2014, I used Windows Backup for my entire computer and saved it on an external hard drive. However, when I try to restore my files, I realised that more than 50% of my files were missing even after the restoration was supposedly completed.

Instead, I met with an error message: C:\DAPHNE\NUS refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network and then try again. If it still cannot be located, the information might have been moved to a different location.

And I realised my folders were all in shortcut format now. Can anyone tell me how to troubleshoot this error and how to retrieve my files? I would really really appreciate any form of help please, thank you!
