installing sccm agent on remote sites RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI Guys,

I Physically copied the cmmsetup file on a remote machine and kicked it off from the command prompt...

when looking at the logs it found it's local dp location.. but reverted to the MP download which i do not want... I want it to download the extra file from it local DP.

I've added screenshots to show that i've setup the boundary groups and the client machine is in the pol ip subnet range.. I also show that if i put the download url in the web browser i can download the files manully from the local dp; I just dont know why it's still pulling from the main server

  • Having a boundary is not enough for content location. Is the POL Boundary a member of a boundary group marked for content location and associated with the local DP?

Yes it is... so from the screenshots i have setup a boundary group... it's site is headoffice as i only setup one site and the pol server is remote dp...

  • Your connection for that DP in the boundary group is set to "slow". If the DP is local to the boundaries specified in the Boundary Group, it should be marked fast. Is there a reason you set it to slow? Try changing it to fast and trying again.

  • cool thanks man, i thought the fast/slow was indication between headoffice and the remote site...

  • No, that's an indication of the connectivity of clients falling within that boundary group to the DP.
