Roaming Profiles with XP Clients joined onto my 2003 Server Domain RRS feed

  • Question

  • To All,

I have three Win XP Clients and I have joined them all onto my Win 2003 Domain and I wish to configure these as a Roaming Profile (In other words I want to configure my clients as Hot Desks) Using the same username that I had created in my Active Directory.

I had created a folder in my C: drive (On my Server) and named this Profiles and shared it and allowed "Everyone" with Full Control, Change & Read the Sharing Tab/Permissions.

Despite I done all the above I am getting rather the annoying error messages from User Environment on all of my clients saying "Windows cannot update your roaming profile. with "Network path cannot be found" or "Access has been denied"

I have screenshot the profile from my username in Active Directory, as the path syntax is correct??

I would be very greatful for any assistance from any fellow member.

    Bob.

  • To All,

I have now resolved the above issue and these are the configurations I had performed:

In the AD Profile, the correct path is \\Server\Profiles\%User Name%

In the shared folder in the C: Drive I have allowed In Permissions I have allowed Full Control for Everyone.
