Windows 2003 R2 FSC failing updates with 0x80070643 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm having an issue where one of the Forefront Server Clients is failing to do updates with error code 0x80070643. The client is installed but when doing an update manually, via the FSC, I get that error.

When looking at the Windows Event Log on the System Log I get the following:

  • Hi,

    Thanks for the post.

Please perform the following steps to fix this issue:

    1. Verify if the paging file is too small, please increase the Paging File to 1GB or more.

    2. Register the following DLL files:

    Regsvr32 WINTRUST.DLL
    Regsvr32 INITPKI.DLL
    Regsvr32 DSSENH.DLL
    Regsvr32 RSAENH.DLL
    Regsvr32 Gpkcsp.dll
    Regsvr32 Sccbase.dll
    Regsvr32 Slbcsp.dll
    Regsvr32 CRYPTDLG.DLL
    Regsvr32 Mssip32.dll

If it still fails then apply the latest Root Certificate Update -

    http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=root%20certificate

    Does it work?

    Thanks,

    Miles
