Windows 7 Backup & Recovery Applet RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Win7 Ultimate x64. I recently tried to run the Windows7 Backup after installing SP1 update (I am the Administrator) and the applet doesn't appear. I also tried running it from Drive C Properties/Tools/Backup and again nothing. Any suggestions besides re-installing?

I also recently ran a test of Acronis True Image Software and removed the software. Could it have removed this function?

  • Hi DM-3D,

See if you can launch the Backup applet by running this command from Run dialog (WinKey + R):

    sdclt.exe

    -or-

    %SystemRoot%\system32\sdclt.exe

  • Ramesh,

Thanks for the response. That did not work.

I am going to try System Restore back to when I uninstalled Acronis. I will let you know if SR resolves the issue.

  • The System Restore did work. I actually went back to the point before I installed Acronis.

    Thanks again for your response,

  • Thanks for the update, DM-3D. Will see if I find anything in Acronis website and post back if I find anything.

  • [Confirmed]

This is caused by Acronis True Image Windows integration. REF:
