After SP2 installation, extended FBA site won't come up RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a farm with 3 WFEs,

    • internal: serves CA and default site
    • external: serves extended https FBA site of internal's default
    • index

I upgraded to officeserver2007sp2-kb953334-x86-fullfile-en-us.exe last night. Internal and external servers upgraded without issue, but the external server needed work.

After adding web.configs to a couple site roots, I was able to install the SP2 to the external server, but the extended https FBA site isn't coming up.

The external site is reached through an IIS redirect site. So, users that type in http://external are redirected to https://external. The redirect is working properly.

In IE, the page is either served with error "An unexpected error has occurred" or it is blank.

In Firefox, I'm getting "XML Parsing Error: no element found
    Location: https://external/_layouts/Authenticate.aspx?Source=%2f
    Line Number 1, Column 1:"

This is a production site, so it is a big deal. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Scott

  • Resolved: Application logs revealed a bad web.config on the production server. Overwrote it with one from our DEV environment, IISRESET and it worked.
