MP role install directory

Question
-
When I install an MP role on a server, it installs on C:\SMS_CCM by default. With no_sms_on_drive, I assume i can change that to a different drive letter. However, will there be a problem if I put the no_sms_on_drive file on that drive after the MP is installed? I'm wanting to install the DP and MP on a single server but I want their installation directories to be on different drives.
Thanks

Yes, it will continue to function properly. The file is only considered when installing the role.

Hi,
no_SMS_on_drive.sms must be on the drive Before you install the roles otherwise it has no effect. Remove the role, add the NO_SMS_ON_Drive.SMS file to C: and add back the MP Role again.

Thanks Jorgen.
If I add the no_sms_on_drive.sms file to the drive that the MP role is installed on, will the MP role continue to function properly?

Well ... adding no_sms_on_drive.sms would be fine just for the management point role, but you will run into issues if the content library is also located on the same drive.
