DCA Status Indicator RRS feed

  • The DCA is confusing my initial user base on DirectAccess.  There is consistently a Red X over the agent, when in reality, the tunnels are built, and connectivity is established.  When you mouse-over the Red X it reads "DirectAccess Connectivity is NOT working"  I'm wondering what the DCA is really reporting?

I currently have 2 probes defined, a file share and a http website.  The http website is often not responsive, I think the server is pretty busy, so when looking at the logs, you see often a FAIL under that probe, and a PASS on the other probe.  I'm wondering if I put in more probes, will that affect the DCA?  If I have 4 probes, and we show 3 pass and 1 fail, will that produce a good result for the DCA?  Are there other factors to consider?

  • Adding more probes would likely increase the chances of it reporting a failure since the DCA will report a problem is ANY of the tests fail.  You might want the change the web site you are testing against (maybe the webui of your certificate server is not busy) or just drop the HTTP test all together.
