Project Server 2013: assignment that increases in a period when you move a date RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everybody,

I would ask if there is a solution for a strange case that happens in Project Web application.

When I move a date in my schedule project, it happens that Project assigns the workload between the old date and the new task finish date.

For example in a week, it can happen that a resource has more than 30 hours at day.

Is there a way to fix this problem? We have necessity to move our planning but this cannot influence the daily resource assignment.

Thanks a lot for the help

    Claudia

  • Hi,

What is your task type? Have you more than 1 resource assigned on the task?

Don't know for the others but I can't see the image...

    Hope this helps,

  • Hi Guillaume

it's a manually task and there is only one resource for task.

I'll try to attach again the image (it shows the delay assignment that is about 30 hours at day for a week for a resource)

  • If you cannot attach an image, you maybe could describe step by step the operation so I can try to reproduce it and guide you?

    Hope this helps,

  • 1. Assign a resource to a task, scheduled to finish on 09/12/2014

    2. The resource insert actual work

    3. The data is replanned by planning and moved to 09/19/2014

    4. The assignment in that week (between 09/12 and 09/19) is about 175 hours/week for one resource, after moving the date.

Here the details of the project:

    - Task 1: 362 hrs from 07/01/2014 to 09/19/2014

    - Task 2: 218 hrs from 09/12/2014 to 31/10/2014

Tell me if it's not so clear or if there are missing informations.

    Thank you!
