sound on speakers RRS feed

  • Question

  • no sound coming from my speaker but when a headphone is plugged in one of the jack the sound is restored 

    but there's another problem, both the headphones and the laptop speaker is working

    I appreciate any help regarding this problem...thanks

    anyway, my laptop is hp pavilion dv6 running on windows 7 home premium..

  • Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray and select Playback devices. Right-click on empty space and make sure Show Disabled Devices is selected. You should see a list of devices. Right-click on Speaker and click to Enable the device to test ,right-click on that device and select Set as Default Device.

  • Hi,

    More often than not when a device isn't working it is because the driver has become corrupted. Re-installing a fresh copy should help.

    Completely remove the current driver and install the newest driver available.

    In addition, you can also contact HP Technical Support for more assistance, they are the best resource to troubleshoot this issue.
