I have a HP DV6000 laptop with Vista Home on it which was preinstalled on it, I find it extremly slow to use, so I want to reinstall xp pro and take of Vista completly. I am having a number issues.
I am tring to boot the XP pro disk from CD after a restart but it fails to do this. I have checked the BIOS and have selected the CD rom to boot first. It make a noise as if the disk is spinning but then after a couple of seconds it boots back into Vista.
I know the XP disk works and is bootable as I tried it on another laptop.
Can any one help get me past this stage or is Vista blocking me from booting from cd?
