WSUS 3.0 SP2 installation is always failed. RRS feed

    Hi All

    I follow the steps of uninstall WSUS directly and then install the WSUS again, Unfortunately it always failed with this error message:

    "Windows Server Update Services 3.0 SP2 could not install Windows Internal Database. For more information, see the Setup log "C:\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\2\WSUSSetup.log".

    Error Log is:

    2014-05-12 19:29:49  Success   MWUSSetup          Validating pre-requisites...
    2014-05-12 19:29:49  Error     MWUSSetup          Failed to determine if an higher version of WSUS is installed. Assuming it is not... (Error 0x80070002: The system cannot find the file specified.)
    2014-05-12 19:29:49  Error     MWUSSetup          WSUS is outdated. But this will not block setup (Error 0x00000000: The operation completed successfully.)
    2014-05-12 19:29:54  Success   MWUSSetup          Initializing installation details

    Hi,

    Have you tried this sticky thread, how to uninstall WSUS?

    This article discussed how to uninstall WSUS completely.

    And someone fixed this error via KB971187

    Unfortunately it always failed with this error message:

    Did you completely uninstall the Windows Internal Database?
