Does FAST Search Authorization support custom user store? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have custom content repository that maintain its own user/group information for security. I am looking for information on FAST support for such scenario? I have read through the TechNet document on "Security and Protection". From the data flow diagram, it seems to be possible to have the connector collect 2 type of security information: user/group relationship for FSA manager and document ACL for FSA workers. But I couldn't find any details on how this can done.

Anyone here has tried it or has any experience to share?

    Thanks

    Ben

  • You have two options, either create a mapping of your custom security over to AD users/groups, and index the items with the AD mapped properties. Check out http://federatedfast.wordpress.com/category/connector/ for more information on this scenario.

Or you could create a custom claims provider, which is also mentioned in the above post, but no step by step on how to get it working.
