Skype for Business 2015 + Multiple NICs RRS feed

  • Question

  • MS recommends and supports single NIC or teamed NIC for Skype FE

However the virtual environment I have and the way it is setup must have management NIC to be able to RDP, has anyone deployed Skype 2015 with multiple NICs and was that successful without any issues, any suggestions/advice from anyone.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/skypeforbusiness/plan-your-deployment/requirements-for-your-environment/server-requirements

1 dual-port network adapter, 1 Gbps or higher (2 network adapters can be used, but they need to be teamed with a single MAC address and a single IP address).
Dual or multi-homed configurations are not supported for Front End Servers, Back End Servers, Standard Edition servers, and Persistent Chat Servers.
As long as they are not exposed to the operating system and are being used to monitor and manage server hardware, you can have out of band management systems, such as DRAC or ILO. This scenario doesn't constitute a multi-homed server, and it is supported.

  • Hi Absar,

According to the official document, it is not supported to use Dual or multi-homed configurations. As the actions you are using is not supported, it may have no problem with deployment. However, nobody could know whether there’re some other questions when you use other functions of Skype for Business. Anyway, we suggest you follow the suggestions from the official document.

    Best Regards,
