  • Hi,

    Please run the “Update-CsAddressBook” as Admin from SFB control panel.

    Then try to clean the user sip cache file from the client side, please do as following steps:

    1.Sign out Skype for Business -> delete sign-in information->exit SFB.

    2.Delete sip folder under: %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync.

    3.Re-connect the internal network and check if this help you fix this issue.

    If it still not works, please try to make a SQL query from SQL Mangement studio and delete the delegate info for the user on backend server.

  • Hi,

    the SQL method should work, it solved the delegation issue for me in every case. I had a lot of incidents where the delegator left the company, the account got deleted and the delegates cannot remove the delegator.

    The query can be misused easily as it is a really painful thing and time consuming also. I managed to script it via powershell to automate my work with these cases.

    The main steps should be the following when you choose this:

    1. Get the delegator (boss) sip address

    2. Run the Get-CsUserPoolInfo for that specific user

    From there you shoulde note down 6 servers (3 from PrimaryPoolMachinesPreferredOrder, 3 from BackupPoolMachinesPreferredOrder), also it is worth to note the PrimaryPoolFQDN and the BackupPoolFQDN for this user. You have to open each servers RTCLocal database from SQL Management Studio.

    a) Please open the SQL Management Studio.
    b) Please connect to <<Lync Frontend FQDN>>\rtclocal.
    c) Please expand the Databases and right-click on “rtc” database.
    d) Please select “New Query” here.
    e) Please execute the Query :
    i) Select * From dbo.Resource Where UserAtHost = 'delegate@domain.com'-----> basically delegates uri.
    ii) Select * From dbo.Resource Where UserAtHost = 'delegator@domain.com'--------> manager's sip uri.

    f) Please note down the ResourceId values for both these commands.
    g) Then, Please run the below Query :

    DELETE FROM [rtc].[dbo].[Delegate]
    WHERE DelegatorId = '<ResourceId from ii)>' AND DelegateId = '<ResourceId from i)>'

    DELETE FROM [rtc].[dbo].[PromptedSubscriber]
    WHERE PublisherId='< delegateid >'AND SubscriberId='< delegator id >'

    You can check it also if it was successful or not with this query:

    select r1.UserAtHost as Delegator, r2.UserAtHost as Delegate, d.AuthMask from rtc.dbo.Delegate as d
           inner join dbo.Resource as r1
                  on r1.ResourceId = d.DelegatorId
           inner join dbo.Resource as r2
                  on r2.ResourceId = d.DelegateId

           where r1.UserAtHost = 'xy@z.com'

    It should give you no result, that's the "good" output.

    The key thing here is that it is not enough to run this query on your main dedicated SQL server databases, you have to check the RTCLOCAL DB's on the FEs which are hosting your user.

    I hope I could help.

  • this is a manual process. If its simply just removing it from the list in the client the user will need to right click the contact in question and then delete that way.
