how do I just publish an external web link? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Maybe a stupid question, but I can't figure out how to just add basic web links to the portal.  We have a couple of external resources such as salesforce, gmail, etc that we would like to have links for showing up in our portal...

  • From memory, you can just add a fake internal web server and then amend the portal tab to add the external URL you need - you may also need to use the application specific hostname template and define your external URL as the application public name, I can't quite remember...

  • The issue I'm running into is that it requires a field for "public host name" and that already has my primary domain name (mydomain.com) appended to it...  So I can't publish gmail.com because UAG always makes the link show up as *.mydomain.com

  • Did you try my first suggestion?

I am pretty sure I got this to work for a customer not long ago...

  • yes, I tried it both before and after I posted...  but UAG always sends the browser to what's listed in the "public host name" and not what's listed in the Portal tab...
