updating, error 643, missing MSVCR.80.dll RRS feed

    unable to update windows.  displays error code 643. looked up error, says computer missing MSVCR80.dll. search of online questions revealed corrupt add-in on outlook.  don't have outlook installed, never did.

    Few reasons could cause the error 643, we could try to reset the Windows Update Components and run the System Update Readiness tool to check. Please check the link below about you can't install updates on a Windows-based computer to follow the steps.

    If the issue still insists, it could be related to the Microsoft .NET Framework. You could manually uninstall and reinstall it.
