  • Hi shak somrat.

The computer name can be retrieved either by opening the System properties or by executing the below PowerShell snippet

    $pcname = (Get-WmiObject Win32_ComputerSystem).Name
    $domainname = (Get-WmiObject Win32_ComputerSystem).Domain
    $pcname + "." + $domainname

The first line gets the computer  name, the second one gets the domain name; the third line concatenates the two values to display the full computer name.

    Bye.

  • Hello,

In XP you may not have Powershell. So, open a CMD console: Start>Run>CMD

    Write:

    SYSTEMINFO | FIND /I "DOMAIN:"

    SYSTEMINFO | FIND /I "HOSTNAME:"

Each of those lines will give you the info you need.

    Hope it helps.

    Cheers
