IE11 Tile lost RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

On a Windows 8.1 64 bits preview, the IE 11 Tile has disapared.

The W 8.0 restauring method no longer works ! IE 11 is the default browser.

How can I restore that Tile, or any other system tile ?

    Best regards.

  • Have you tried simply pinning it back to the start page.  go to the start page and type internet and you should see the app come up on the left side of your screen.  Right click the app and choose pin to start located at the bottom right of your screen.  Also if you would like to go back to Windows 8 the best way I have come across is to simply go back to a restore point made before the update and restore any programs and data you made after that restore point.

  • Hi,

If solution mentioned above did not restore the Internet Explorer tile, I suggest you try following steps:

    1. Go to the Start screen.
    2. Type cmd.
    3. Click the cmd.exe icon on the left side of the screen to open a Command Prompt window.
Important Do not select the option to run the program as an administrator.
    4. At the command prompt, enter the following command:

    C:\Windows\System32\ie4uinit.exe –UserIconConfig Press Enter
