IIS Intermittently Locks Up RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

My apologies if this post isn't where it should be, I couldn't find anything for IIS specifically.

I develop websites on IIS with VS2010 and so I need my IIS to be working reliably. Currently, it isn't. I've never had any issues before on other computers, but on this one, the server just locks up. Whether I'm trying to serve a page or open a site in inetmgr, the mouse pointer/page load indicator will sit indefinitely on a "working" spinner icon.

I can't see anything in the logs, but I have tried the following:

    net stop w3svc
    net start w3svc

This fails when stopping the service. Same deal, it's like it's trying really hard to do this.

All I've found that works is restarting Windows altogether.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I wanted to change the world, but no-one would give me the source code... Logan Young
