SC 2012 DPM - Can the BMR Be Restored on the Smaller Disk RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there!

Can the following scenario work? I presume it may not be supported, but is it possible to implement it?

    • Protected server has 1 disk.
    • Total size of Disk C: 80 GB.
    • Data takes 30 GB.
    • RAM: 4 GB

Can the BMR be restored on the server with the disk size of 40-50 GB provided it has the same RAM size and CPU type?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi Jennifer,

No. The disk you are restoring to has to be of equal size or larger.

In your scenario the disk you are restoring to has to be 80GB or higher.
