How does SCCM Client automatically reinstall on inactive clients

Question

Hi
Whenever a computer is reinstalled the SCCM client doesn't seem to get pushed automatically and the existing record in SCCM (2012) is eventually marked inactive. How does SCCM Client automatically reinstall on inactive clients?
Thanks

ConfigMgr doesn't install the client automatically on devices marked as Inactive. Only devices with client marked as NO, will be targeted by an automatic client push (if configured). The only mechanism that would set client back to NO is the Clear Install Flag maintenance task.

When a client is off the network for an extended period of time the clear install flag will do just what it indicates it does. When the client comes back online it sends a heartbeat which reactivates the record (makes it client=yes)
