SharePoint(2007) Site was dead slow RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

Today our Intranet site was running dead slow. But we checked under IIS and when browse the site under Websites..site is responding OK.

Few thing we did to speed up the site but no help like..

    1. Recycle App Pool

    3. Restart SQL Server

We observed w3wp.exe was taking high memory about 1.8GB total memory in Server is 8 GB.

Network response time is 4ms when pinging server from command prompt.

Antivirus is not blocking any file which might result in slow response of site.

Only thing which restore site speed is restart Application Server.

Can anyone pls guide us correct pointer to where could be the issue.

    We have MOSS 2007

    OS: Windows Server 2003 R2

    DB: SQL Server 2005

  • Usual suspects.... What does your SQL server utilization look like? Have you enabled blobcaching? What's your output caching look like http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc298466(v=office.12).aspx

  • Hi,

Yes we have enabled blobcaching. One thing we observed is when i go to IIS and then under Websites when i right click on sharepoint site and browse it the site is opening ...but not through other system.

The site is responding very slow sometimes it work Ok but just for 15 mins.

One thing network guys told us they applied some patch on Exchange Server ..will this impact on SharePoint site..

    Please advise.
