SCDPM2012: Upgrade the local SQL instance to SP1 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Just a simple question. Is it supported to upgrade the local SQL 2008 R2 instance of SCDPM 2012 with SQL 2008 R2 SP1 ?

Referring to the Operations Guide updates are welcome: "Updates—known as fixes, hotfixes, patches, service packs, and security rollup packages — help to protect computers and data. You can use your preferred method for deploying software updates, such as Automatic Updates or Windows Server Update Services, both on DPM servers and on protected computers.", http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh758087.

Before upgrading to SP1 in a production environment an official support statement will be appreciated.

    Thank you

  • Hi Alberto,

I checked with the DPM product group and they have does internal testing using SQL 2008 R2 Sp1 and have said that it is supported.   We will be updating this site to include that information.
