  • Hi Ahmad,

You are on the right track. You can have the a PDP page associated as "new project". In the PDP page, You can add the webpart "Project fields" & then you can edit the webpart to add more custom fields.

Please see christophe's article that covers step by step :
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/chrisfie/archive/2010/01/08/how-to-project-2010-edit-project-custom-fields-in-pwa.aspx

Just to make sure, the screenshot you attached with previous reply, PDP page will not look like that. You may need to design the web part page using VS2010 & later add that in PDP.

    Hope that helps.

  • Hi Ahmad--

When you create a project detail page, did you setu the page type as a "New project". If not, Please go to PWA> Servers settings> project Detail page> Select the page & edit the properties & update the page type as New project. Now, verify in EPT, should be appearing in New project page drop down list under  "New Project Page/Project Detail Pages" section.

Regarding the designing the web part page, It's a sharepoint webpart page via VS 2010. Ther are lot of samples in solution starters & Project 2010 SDK. please download & see a sample of PDP customization.

    http://archive.msdn.microsoft.com/P2010SolutionStarter

Installation directory: Solution Starter 7.21.2011\Source\Solution Starters\PDPCustomizations

No, PWA site cannot be customized for SharePoint designer. It's locked for any SPD customization.

    Thanks.

  • HI, welcome to the forums and you surely will find some useful information for your queries :)

now back to business, your question is not really clear my friend.

New option available in ribbon of PWA within Project Center is to create a new project. And every item available there required EPT (enterprise project type) configuration. following are few links for your help to understand the idea of EPTs in Project SErver 2010.

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/project/archive/2009/11/13/project-2010-introducing-demand-management.aspx

And if you have any formula to use on project data, such as view project schedule status using traffic light and etc. you need to use enterprise custom field with the type formula and use your formula to create custom field.

see this link to know more about using formulas in custom fields: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ee767700.aspx

    hope this helps, thanks.

  • Hi Mr Amit Khare,

thank you very much That was what i want :) thank you very much.

But when I create a new EPT I dont see my PDP in the dropdownlist for new project pages?!

(You may need to design the web part page using VS2010 & later add that in PDP)

Do you have any Article they show how I can do it?
Its like sharepoint WP or its different?

Can I also have the traffic in the WP when I develop it in VS2010?

Can I also change design in SP Designer ?

thank you again and I hope you will answer my questions.
