    I need to lock down my Windows 7 build. The issue I have is that I need to enable pin to start menu. This means I have to enable right click on the Start Menu.

    I am locking down the ability for users to browse to the C: Drive so when I enable right click on the start menu users can right click and choose Open. Which if they do this on a folder on the start menu opens to where the locally installed app resides and then they have access to the c: drive. 

    So I need to either remove Open from right click on Start Menu only or enable pin to start menu with the right click disabled.

    Is this at all possible.

    Hi,


    As my opinion, you can disable the context menu on a right-click using GPO, and achieve the pin function by dragging the program's shortcut to the Start menu.


    For detail steps to disable right-click function:


    1. click start and type “gpedit.msc” in the search bar and press enter

    2. In the left pane, click on to expand User Configuration, Administrative Templates,Windows Components, and Windows Explorer.

    3. In the right pane, right click on Remove Windows Explorer's default context menu and click on Edit.

    4. chose enable and click OK
