Skype for Business Basic in Window 10 need internet to sign-in RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all.

    I had this problem recently.

I built a private system: One server installs Skype Server 2015, and some client machines with Window 10 and Skype for Business 2016 Basic. Internet is not allows in my system.

Skype for Business 2016 is stuck at "Contacting server and signing in..." and doesn't give any error.

If I connect internet for client machine then Skype for Business works normally. I tried sign-in with same account in the client machine which install Window 7, the Skype can work without internet.

On the Window 10 Pro,  Skype for Business 2016 is stuck at "Contacting server and signing in..." if haven't internet access.

I would be really glad if someone could help. I tried many solution in the internet, but unfortunately that they are not work for me. :(

  • Hi LinhNguyen1410,

You deploy the internal environment ,you could add a record to point in a host file.

Open the this file(c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) with notepad as a administartor, add the pool FQDN and IP address in the host file like the following screenshot.

  • hi!

I have exactly the same mistake, and I was able to overcome it only by taking the advice of disabling the service "Network List Service"

Other methods described in the article do not work

Could there be a normal way to make sfb connect on a network without internet?
