Create a new file options disappear

    Question

  • When I create a new document library in SharePoint Online, and then click the new button I get the following options for creating a new file.

    Before

    Once I add a custom content type to that same library, my options change to the following with “MCC Document” being my newly added custom content type.

    How can I get back the options to add OneNote, and PowerPoint and excel documents?

  • Hi Schuess,

    If you want to add the new custom content type with the OneNote, and PowerPoint and excel document when clicking new button, you could create site content types for OneNote, and PowerPoint and excel.

    You could create site content type inherit the document content type and change or upload the document template for OneNote, and PowerPoint and excel. And then add these content types in the library.
