RemoteApp program won't minimize to taskbar RRS feed

  • Question

  • We've recently set up RemoteApp terminal services to run OfficeMate, which is our EMR software for our optometric clinic. However, I cannot get it to minimize to the taskbar. Instead, it minimizes to a little toolbar that sits just ABOVE the taskbar (like it did in Windows 95, 98, 2000 when explorer crashed). This makes it very difficult to find, especially if other programs are running. It insists on staying behind everything, and clicking on the "show desktop" button on Windows 7 hides it.

I can't find a switch statement or setting for this anywhere. Note that when this odd behavior occurs, the remote session stays connected, and clicking on the minimized toolbar brings up the menu for "restore," which maximizes the window again.

When the program being used, it appears correctly in the taskbar. However, when OfficeMate launches another window, that child window sticks in the taskbar, while the parent window does not.

    Here are some screenshots:

When I click the minimize button in OfficeMate:

When OfficeMate launches another window, the child window works correctly:
