  • Hi,

the SIP domains are configured in top site level and it will be common for both Lync server 2010 and 2013. you need to configure the SIP domain in Lync server 2013 topology and publish. the run the deployment Wizard, certificate wizard to add the relevant SAN records. you have to run it in both FE servers 2010 and 2013

  • In co-existance mode, you can not make changes in topology of lower version of service. You will have to create SIP domains from Lync Server 2013 Topology Builder or Lync Server 2013 Management Shell. However you can manage users from Lync Server 2010 and Lync Server 2010 Management Shell.

  • Yes tried it give me error New-CsSipDomain : "1" error categories reported in topology document. However if i try to run same command on lync 2013 shell it works fine. Look like when i bring lync2013 and lync2010 in same active directory as co-existance for migration purpose i am no longer able to create sip domain in lync2010. However new user are able to activate on lync 2010 for those sip domain which were created before this co-existence.

  • "Don’t attempt to open the topology in Lync Server 2010 Topology Builder. The topology can only be viewed using Lync Server 2013 Topology Builder. The Lync Server 2013 Topology Builder must be used to create pools for both Lync Server 2013 and Lync Server 2010." : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj205420.aspx

  • You have always to use the topology builder for 2013.

The Lync 2013 topology builder support Lync 2010 and Lync 2013.l

All changed configuration will be sync to all Lync 2010 and Lync 2013 server.

  • As Thamara and Holger said, you just add new sip domain in Lync Server 2013 Topology Builder and it will sync to all Lync 2010 and 2013 servers.

  • Thanks!

We have planned to manage users of already existing SIP domains user in Lync 2010. We have planned to create the new SIP domains in Lync 2013 and migrate the existing ones from Lync 2010 to the new version of the server. As main purpose of co-existence is this to new sip domain and user to host on lync2013 while i am moving old existing user one by one.
