We have 2 host servers and 1 storage server all Xeon based with ample ram. I am planning on migrating all of our vm's to the storage server, still using the host servers to run the virtual machines but having the vhdx files on the storage server within the
same datacenter.
Any best practises I should consider? As these vhd files are quite large, I am worried that there would be a considerable performance issue with the virtual machines, but I am not sure? How network heavy is hosting the virtual machine hard drives on network
drives?
