File / Folder Sharing RRS feed

  • General discussion

I have 10 PC's here running steady state - but I am having some problems with shared resources. Namely that I have a folder on each machine which is shared accross my network (Workgroup not domain) what I use this for is updating the 'front end' on an enterprise database.

My problem is that if I create the folder and share it after steadystate is installed I can not access the shared folder accross the network. I have tried logging on as the steadystate administrator to create and share the folder - this does not work.

To say I am stumped is an understatement!!

Any help would be gratefully received!

    Hi David,

    Thank you for posting here!

Before we go any further, I would appreciate your help in clarifying the following questions:

    1. When did this issue begin to occur? Have it ever worked?

    2. Did this issue occur on other computers?

    3. What error message was received?

Would you please include the exact error message, thus we can perform further research on it.

You can also capture a screenshot to me at

    1. Press the Print Screen key on the upper right corner of the keyboard when the error occurs.

    2. Open Paint from Start -> All Programs -> Accessories-> Paint.

    3. Click Paste on the Edit menu in the Paint program.

    4. Save it and send it to me.

If there is any update on this issue, feel free to post back.

    Best Regards,
