How to convert a 40hrs/week schedule to a 37.5hrs/week? RRS feed

  • Question

  • How to convert a 40hrs/week schedule to a 37.5hrs/week?

What all needs to be changed in the schedule (settings wise) to convert a 40 hrs/week schedule into a 37.5 hrs/week schedule (using a best approach)!!

    --------------
Below is some additional relevant info:

There are 2 custom enterprise calendars as below:

    >"ABC": working times as 8:30AM to 12:00PM and 1:00PM to 5:00PM
    making total hrs/day = 7.5

    >"ABC Contract": working times as 8:00AM to 12:00PM and 1:00PM to 5:00PM
    making total hrs/day = 8.0

    and,

Project Calendar under Project Info should be setup to which calendar - "ABC" ??

    and,

Under Project Options (schedule tab) ??:
    Default Start/End Time: 8AM / 5PM
    Hours/day: 8 hr
    hours/week: 40hrs
    Days/month: 20

  • I might miss some steps, but here's what I would do...

    1) Create the 37.5 hour calendar.
    2) Apply the calendar to your project.
    3) If you have resources assigned to the project, ensure that each resource
is toggled to the new calendar.
    4) Review the Tools > Options settings and revise them.
    5) Review the work assignments to ensure the correct number of hours are
entered.  You'll likely have to convert them from multiple of 8 to multiples
    of 7.5.

    That should reallocate existing work.

In the future, entering "1w" will result in 37.5, and "1d" will result in
    7.5 presumably....
