Outlook Profiles Auto Configuration

    Question

  • Hi ,

Lets assume that we have a fresh office 365 accounts in a new tenant. All the records including" autodiscover" records are in place. Is there any way to create outlook profiles automatically? When a user opens outlook, he doesn't need to do anything and outlook will load the new profile. Can we do this from Group policy? or do we have third party tools to do this?

    Best Regards,

    Mr.POP

  • If "Autodiscover" is already inplace, then when end user launches Outlook client for the first time, Outlook will automatically create the profile for him/her. All they need to do is supply their email addresses and click "Next" and "Finish".

If you really don't want them to do "anything", then you can follow the steps mentioned in the link shared above to deploy a prf-file via a (Group Policy) logon script.

  • Yes, you can do so.

Just follow some steps given at http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/deployprf.htm to set same settings for every new Outlook profile.
