Can i run SAGE on SBS 2011 standard version RRS feed

Answers

  • When you say 'run Sage' do you mean can you actually install Sage on SBS 2011 and open the program/use it from the SBS 2011 computer?

Whilst it might install ok it would be very much advised against in using it this way for all sorts of reasons (crashing etc). Sage themselves also advise against using the program in this manner.

What you can and should do with Sage on a server is simply store the data in a shared folder somewhere on the data drive. Then once the data/shared folder structure is in place you can install the software on each workstation and 'point' the program to the shared drive on the server.

That way the workstations just have the software installed but the data is stored on the server - plus it will get backed up automatically when your nightly backup runs.

Short answer - no - don't install Sage on the server. Install Sage on your workstations but keep the shared Sage data on the server.

    Hope that helps.

I don't work for Microsoft - I just use their products.
