I'm getting exact same thing on my laptop with vista x64. Have had no problems with vista 32 bit on my 5 year old desktop, but can't get it to work right on new laptop.
Turion 64 x2 TL-50
ATI x1100 chipset/Graphics with ati vista x64 beta drivers
It will immediately blue screen on first boot, then i can get the desktop for a minute the second boot, then it will run fine for 30 minutes to an hour on the third boot.
Found some stuff about user permissions causing this on windows 2000 and 2003 but all of those fixes seem to be in effect already. I guess I'll just keep looking.
Runs fine in safe mode BTW.

After attempt to install Windows Vista on this Laptop (Fujitsu-Siemens) together with XP Professional I always get the error message:
Das COM+-Ereignissystem hat einen ungültigen Rückgabecode während der internen Verarbeitung erkannt. HRESULT war 800706BA von Zeile 44 von d:\qxp_slp\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. Wenden Sie sich an den Microsoft-Produktsupport.
Yet, the marked file or folder does not exist at all. tier1 in English means Animal1, so I first about having a virus or so -negative. The file does no(t more) exist. Maybe, and I can only guess, Vista INstallation program wrote this to some place anywhere (could not even find this in the registry). Right now my MSI Installer does not work anymore, it is impossible to be repaired with unreg/download/etc. in Run/Msiexec.
Either way, every program I am running thinks I am not in Administrator Mode, so I cannot access some parts of my windows. Please help, what is this?
