Where are BranchCache cached files stored RRS feed

  • Question

  • My understanding is that in hosted cache mode the cached files are stored on the branch office hosted cache server. Where on the server are they stored, and can I change that location? I have a small OS partition (100gb) c: drive and a large data partition (1TB) E: drive. I would like to store the cached files on the larger partition.

    thanks

  • Hi,

You may try to use the "set localcache" command. Please refer to the following artilces:

  • the command returned that it succeeded, I also set publicationcache to a new location and it ruturned succeeded as well. Should I start seeing cached content in this folder at some time? I am seeing three files in the localcache folder at this time, two .pds files and one .pdsidx file, all with 0bytes. I am not sure I have this working correctly. thanks.

  • Hello.

The fact that the file sizes are all zero bytes reveals that the Hosted Cache Server has not yet cached any data.

For help, please consult this page to Verify BranchCache functionality:

    Thanks.
