  • I agree, this is a VMware issue.  But in their defense, there isn't official support for R2 or 8.1 in vmtools.

    FWIW...  I have the same observation with either Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows 8.1.  I thought I had a host issue at first but eventually correlated the crash's with instances of 2012 R2 and/or 8.1 running.  The host is stable as can be as long as I don't start those VM's.
