I have been wondering what exactly is the diffrence between Server 2008 R2 RTM that is out now and Server 2008 R2 that will be released? I am asking this because I would like to know if I can/should use the version avalible now to upgrade my servers. Thanks for the help.
No difference. The final version of the OS is called RTM (release to manufacturing). It is also sometimes called the gold version. It is the version used to produce the DVDs which will be available over the counter at the release date.
If you have access to an RTM version there is no reason to wait.Bill
