Move page content from SharePoint 2013 Test to SharePoint 2013 Prod environment RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are in the process of creating a SharePoint 2013 intranet (publishing portal). We currently have a SharePoint 2013 test environment, that we are using to test functionality built by a third party in their SP2013 dev environment. We would like to start creating content in the test environment now, to make sure that all functionality is working as expected. The issue, is that we don't want to lose the page/document/list content that has been created. We would like to move that content to our production SharePoint 2013 farm (once it has been configured). Is there a way to migrate the content from one farm to another? I've seen some 3rd party tools that do this, but they are outside of our budget.

    Thanks in advance,

  • Hi,

Below are methods that will migrate your content from one farm to other farm:

    1. configure content deployment jobs to migrate content from source to target site.
    2. If its a one time process, then you can use backup-restore using powershell.
    3. Export-Import using powershell.
    4. Third-party tools
