Vista keyboard loss RRS feed

  • Question

  • Lost keyboard access.                           Mouse still works.

OS: Vista 64 bit   SP1 on Gateway LX6810

Uninstalled Kaspersky’s 2013 Internet Security using Trend Micro.

When realized PS/2 keyboard was not working there were no good restore points.

Windows Error Report – Device Manger error code 19 for all keyboards and PS/2 mouse + error 10 for PS/2 keyboard

Followed all Microsoft recommendations multiple, multiple times (Updating drivers, uninstall and reinstall drivers, etc.).

Removed upper filters for keyboard in registry.  This removed all error codes except error 10 for PS/2

Other PS/2 keyboards would not work.

Installed wireless keyboard and mouse.  The mouse and all function keys and peripheral device keys work.  No active keyboard or number pad.

    Memory Diagnostics Tool   OK

No luck using sfc/scannow or checkdisk .

All Windows updates are installed.  No new drivers at Gateway.

Believe Kaspersky’s removal altered registry.  Do not have repair disk, only restore.   Any help would be appreciated.
