Failed to update DPM Agent 2016 on Windows 2008 R2 Standard RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am getting this error:

Data Protection Manager Error ID: 295
    1. Use Add or Remove Program in Control Panel to uninstall the DPM Agent Coordinator service on xxx server
    2. Check if VCRedist 2012 is installed on xxx server. If it is not kindly install from the DPM install directory
    3. Check if .Net 4.0 is installed on xxx server. If it is not kindly install from DPM install directoryyyyy

So I removed DPM Agent 2012 and rerun the update but getting the same error. I also verified that the server has VCRedist 2012 and .Net 4.5 installed.

I went to install the DPM manually and getting this error:

"the program can't start because mi.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"

Does anybody know what is going on with it?
