Merge 2 Partitions to 1 in Domain Controller

Hello

Our DC machine have 2 partitions - P1 has OS installed and P2 is empty.

Need suggestions on how feasible is to merge these two partitions to 1 (delete P2 and extend P1) and would there be any impact on Domain Controller services or machine itself.

This operations should go perfectly.

The ease to do this depends on the OS version. from 2008 up it is real easy and can be done "online" using built-in tools. Just delete the secondary partition and extend the first one. The fact the machien is a DC does not matter.

I would still recommend to have a backup as a precaution.

That being said, you should also consider to move AD database and logs away from system drive.
