Disable "Let Windows collect my activities from this PC" using GPO (Windows 1803)

  • Hi,

I am unable to deactivate the "Let Windows collect my activities from this PC" option using Group policies.

    1. I have updated *.admx files, to get last GPO settings.
    2. I went into Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > OS Policies and set the 3 options on Deactivated (Enables Activity Feed, Allow publishing of User Activities and Allow the user to load activities)
    3. Parameters are well changed after a gpupdate but only "Let Windows collect my activities from this PC" is still activated and blocked for modifications. (under Windows Parameters > Activity History)

Any idea to deactivate this option using GPO ?

  • Hi,

We have tested the settings in my lab and get the same result as you mentioned, but the registry value PublishUserActivities was changed as expected.

    I assume it’s a by designed behavior.

    Best Regards,
